I put together a $75 DIY comfort kit for a friend in treatment and would like to share it here with CCN readers. I included items I thought would provide some comfort during this terrible time including lotion, tissues, lip balm, hard candy and mouth spray for dry mouth, hand sanitizer, cozy non-slip socks, a super soft fleece throw, and a big stainless steel travel mug to keep hydrated on trips to treatment.
I was touched with how thankful and grateful she was for this simple gesture. If you know someone going through treatment, these items might be just the thing to provide care & comfort when it’s needed most.

My wife will, unfortunately, be spending the next 10 days in a hospital. She goes in on Friday. I wanted to get her something to cheer her up but everything I found would either have something she didn’t like or it was super expensive. I love your ideas. I will order everything tonight. I have been trying to get some ideas. I want to do something like this for a friend and this really helped me out. The only things I would add to this are ice packs and tea. There is green tea and ginger blend by TAZO that is fantastic for stomach upset.
