Guest Post Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Cancer Care News (CCN) is a national nonprofit that connects cancer patients and their families with free and low-cost programs, resources, and support. Our blog exists to extend that mission — offering thoughtful, accurate, and compassionate content for people navigating one of the most difficult experiences of their lives.

We accept a limited number of guest posts from qualified contributors whose work aligns with our mission and meets our editorial standards. Please read this policy carefully before submitting.

  • Cancer patients and survivors writing from personal experience
  • Caregivers writing from direct caregiving experience
  • Representatives of nonprofit organizations serving the cancer community

We do not accept anonymous submissions. All contributors must provide verifiable credentials, a professional bio, and a working website or LinkedIn profile.

Topics We Accept

Guest posts must fall within one of the following categories:

  • Nutrition and eating well during cancer treatment
  • Caregiving and caregiver support
  • Financial assistance and navigating cancer costs

Topics We Do Not Accept

CCN will reject the following without exception:

  • Promotion of supplements, alternative therapies, or unproven treatments
  • Any content making treatment efficacy claims not supported by peer-reviewed evidence
  • Product reviews or promotional content that does not serve the direct needs of cancer patients or families
  • Sponsored content disguised as editorial content
  • Political or legislative advocacy
  • Content that duplicates or competes with CCN’s own resource directory or program database
  • Content produced in whole or in part by AI writing tools (see AI Content Policy below)

Editorial Standards

Accuracy. Medical and clinical information must be accurate and consistent with current, evidence-based guidelines. CCN reserves the right to fact-check all submissions and to reject or request revision of any content that contains inaccurate, outdated, or misleading information.

Originality. Submit only original content that you have not published elsewhere, in whole or in part, including on personal blogs, LinkedIn, Medium, or any other platform. CCN will reject content that is substantially similar to existing published material.

Word count. Posts must be between 1,250 and 2,500 words. We will return submissions outside this range for revision.

Tone. Content must be warm, respectful, and written with sensitivity to the lived experience of cancer patients and their families. CCN will return for revision any content that is too clinical to be accessible or that minimizes the patient experience.

Links. Guest posts may include up to two outbound links to reputable, relevant sources. CCN reserves the right to add internal links to our resource directory within your post.

Disclosure. Disclose any conflict of interest in your submission — including employment, financial relationships, or ownership interest in any organization, product, or service mentioned in your post. Failure to disclose conflicts of interest is grounds for immediate rejection and permanent disqualification from future submissions.

AI Content Policy

CCN does not accept content generated in whole or in part by AI writing tools, including but not limited to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Jasper, or similar tools.

CCN reviews all submissions for AI-generated content. We will reject flagged posts and permanently disqualify repeat violators. This policy exists because our readers deserve authentic human voices — people who have lived, studied, or worked within the cancer experience.

Using AI as a light editing or grammar tool is acceptable. Using AI to generate, paraphrase, or substantially rewrite content is not.
