Patients who are facing a cancer diagnosis or are currently undergoing a treatment regimen often grapple with a myriad of changes to their daily lives that are both disruptive and frustrating. Showing someone you care about them during this time can go a long way towards not only boosting their spirits but also in aiding their recovery. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
CanPlan Care Planner
One gift that is invaluable for patients undergoing cancer treatment is a treatment planner set. You can find one from CanPlan that will provide the tools your loved one needs to record the vital information with regard to their diagnosis, pathology, blood work and treatment protocols, appointments, nutritional recommendations, any questions he or she might have for a physician, and much more.
Leaves of Love Blanket
Another thoughtful gift with a personal touch is a Leaves of Love Blanket. The blanket can be customized with the family name at the top and eight additional names on the blanket. You can also add pet names and words of encouragement to the design. It’s a really customized gift that also serves a useful purpose. In terms of gifts that will get frequent, loving use, this is one that’s hard to beat.

I would have never thought to get a sound machine. I think my sister would love one. I just want to cheer her up with something nice and I couldn’t think of anything other than flowers and candy but this is great. She has issues sleeping at night. The noises in hospitals are far from comforting.
We are so pleased to hear you have been inspired by this post, Rebecca. All the very best to you and your sister.
